How and when will I be charged for my subscription?
This article will tell you more about the Bókun billing cycle and how you can pay for your subscription.
What is the Bókun billing cycle?
Bókun bills on a monthly basis, paid in advance. The date of the month that your paid subscription becomes active becomes the date of your billing cycle (billing date) and you are invoiced and charged henceforth on that date.
For instance, if your Bokun subscription is charged and activated on the 15th of a month, it will then be charged on the 15th of the upcoming month going forward, paying in advance for that month.
What about the booking fees?
Booking fees are applicable to bookings made from the 1st of the month to the end of the month via Bókun websites, booking widgets, booking portal, Channel Manager and API, payment links and Marketplace and OTAs.
The booking fee is calculated as a percentage of the booking value according to your subscription plan and charged alongside your billing cycle subscription plan every month. While the subscription charge is paid in advance, the booking charges are paid in arrears for the preceeding month.
There are no charges for Viator bookings, bookings that take place fully offline, or bookings cancelled within the same month they were created prior to the next billing cycle.
What if I change my subscription?
If you upgrade your subscription from FREE to a paid subscription, your credit card will be charged on the day your subscription becomes active. That day of the month will then become your billing date moving forward.
- For example: You upgrade from FREE to Bókun START and you are charged for your Start subscription on the 15th of October, then 15th of the month becomes your monthly billing date going forward.
If you decide to move from a Bókun paid plan to the Bókun FREE plan, you will lose access to numerous features that are included in the plan. You will keep access to the subscription features until your next billing date.
- For example: If your monthly billing date is the 15th, and you move from Bókun START to FREE on the 20th of January, then you will keep access to the Bókun START features until the 15th of February.
Apps are charged on the same dates as the subscription plans.
What are Bókun's subscription plans?
Depending on your business’ needs, you can choose between different subscription plans, the Bókun FREE plan and our new Bókun subscription plans, Bókun START, PLUS or PREMIUM.
The new Bókun subscription plans also allows you to add some Apps of your choice to help you take your business to the next level.
Bókun PLUS and PREMIUM include the Subvendor and Agent apps that cannot be purchased seperately.
Take a look at our plan overview below to help you decide which plan suits your business. Further information on Bókun’s subscription plans can be found here or visit our website pricing page here.
How does Bókun charge my card?
Bókun charges in USD. When bookings are made in EUR or any other currency, we convert the subscription and margin percentage to USD using the official bank rate. When we then charge the service fee, we charge the value in USD and the card issuer converts home currency into USD, so any extra fees are dependent on the issuer bank.
